Like many other London residents, the River Thames has been close to my heart and a part of my life ever since I can remember. I think many would agree that the River Thames could be seen as London’s heart and soul.
She was a friend I used to meet on my daily commute, day and night, whatever the weather. I would often bump into her whilst on my lunch breaks and at weekends too. I probably saw more of her than any of my other friends or family.
She even helped me make the decision to build a boat to live on whilst I was sat at the water's edge in Greenwich contemplating the next phase of my life in London....
Given her personal importance, I was itching for several months to celebrate the River Thames as an artist
Having spent many, many, many long hours working on the design over the last two months, I am pleased to be able to finally unveil the result of my toil: A series of four paper cut street maps covering the River Thames as it passes through central London. This design has been constructed from 16 sheets of card from which almost 14,000 holes have been cut.
A strictly limited number of 100 pieces of this London map series will be produced. Every one is an artist's original having been handcrafted, signed & dated in my floating studio.
In keeping with my usual approach, I will offer to recreate the design in the colour options of your choice that you request at the time of ordering.
So if you are on the lookout for a statement piece of London themed art to adorn your own walls or a very, very special gift for a loved one, why don't you consider this unique series of papercut maps? Click here to visit the product listing and claim your artwork
